Melba Thompson Rosenlund, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend, died peacefully at home on February 10, 1998, one month after her 74th birthday.
Melba was born in Mt. Pleasant on January 11, 1924 to Christian and Henrietta Thompson. She married her sweetheart, Fergus C. Rosenlund on Dec. 8, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. This incredible woman touched many lives. She was a valiant and devoted member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities. She graduated Valedictorian from Wasatch Academy. Besides being an excellent cook, her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and reading. She also loved to garden and especially loved delivering fresh vegetables and flowers to friends and family. She planted seeds in soil as well as hearts, taking special care to nurture both.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Thelma and Anna Alene. Melba is survived by her husband, Ferg; children, Stephen F. Rosenlund, Mt. Pleasant; Linda Llewellyn, Bakersfield, CA; Leslee Lusk, Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 1998, 12:00 noon, in the Mt. Pleasant Stake Center. Friends and family may call Thursday, February 12, 1998 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ursenbach Funeral Home, and Friday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
