Obituary from Rexburg Standard Journal (Rexburg, ID) - June 26, 2003:
Arvin Dustin, 79, of Burton, died June 24, 2003 at the Ashton Living Center from congestive heart failure.
He was born November 30, 1923 in Bates, to Van O. and Lillian Kunz Dustin. He attended elementary and high school in Victor. In 1944 Arvin enlisted in the Army. He served for two years in the Pacific Islands and Korea.
On October 4, 1947 he married Margie Rasmussen in Rexburg. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1949. Their daughters are Janet (Greg) Brown and Kathleen (Bruce) Munns.
Arvin worked on the Toliver Ranch for five years, then he helped with construction of the Palisades Dam. In 1963 the family moved to Rexburg. Arvin did carpentry work at Ricks College, Key Bank, area church houses, the Madison County jail, and individual homes.
He was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout his life. He was a high priest at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Margie, of Burton; daughters, Janet of Rexburg and Kathy of Rigby; siblings, Miles O. Dustin of Sequim, Washington, Neta Driggs of Driggs, Marlene Hansen, who is serving an LDS mission in Australia, Garren Dustin of Victor, Vearl Dustin of Idaho Falls, Debra Thornton of Greenville, Texas, and Brenda Young of Meridian; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at Burton LDS Ward at 1 p.m.
