Mr. Gunderson was born March 4, 1867(death certificate and cemetery records show 1865) at Mt. Pleasant, a son of Jens Christen and Maria Peterson Gunderson. He is a retired coal miner and has lived for 13 years in Huntington, his previous home being at Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving are two sons, Virgil Gunderson of Sun Valley, Idaho and Charles Gunderson of Huntington; four daughters, Mrs. E. R. Bennet of Needles, Cal.; Mrs. Ivan Simmons of Salt Lake City, Mrs. W. A. Baxter of Huntington, Mrs. Lloyd Ungerman of Huntington; one brother, Henry Gunderson of Salt Lake City and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Coats of Salmon City, Idaho; Mrs. Mary Christensen of Ephraim, Mrs. Carrie Fowles of Delta and Mrs. Christina Rennburg of Los Angeles Cal; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
