1943 - 2015

Charlotte Carina Wilman Tripp took the Lord's hand, and followed His light to her Eternal Home on February 18, 2015 at the Redington Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

Charlotte was born January 29, 1943 in Providence, R.I., daughter of George and Carina (Bucci) Wilman.

She grew up in Skowhegan, Maine attending schools there and graduating from Skowhegan High School, Class of 1961.

She attended Farmington State Teachers' College graduating with a BS degree in Elementary Education in 1965.

She continued on to graduate study earning a Master's of Education Degree and a Certificate of Advanced Study from the University of Maine, Orono.

In 1965, she married her college sweetheart, best friend and love of her life, Brainard Tripp. Their steadfast love and marriage endured for 49 years.

They lived in Bangor and Hampden, Maine where she was employed as a teacher by the Bangor School Department for 36 years.

Upon retirement in 2001, she "came home" to the Skowhegan area and settled at Embden Pond. There she lived on a hill overlooking the lake and family camp where she had always found peace and spirituality.

Her love of nature was a part of who she was and it was constantly nurtured by all the plants and creatures of the forest in splendid isolation.

Through the years her several cats, Misty, Brandy, Maybelline and Maxx were like children who she loved and pampered. Later in life, God sent her Molly, a toy Pomeranian that brought her more happiness than she had ever known. They shared a loving bond until Molly's untimely death. Still later came a second Pomeranian puppy, Lily Belle, who she raised from a baby to be her whole world.

Charlotte loved to shop, garden, exercise, sew, listen to music, read, and walk the lakeshore road.

She was a life member of the National Education Assoc. (active & retired), the State Garden Club Federation of Maine, and the Norridgewock Historical Society. She also belonged to the Embden Historical Society, Bloomfield Garden Club, United Methodist Women, Somerset Retired Teachers, Maine Association of Retirees, Embden Pond Association, Kennebec Valley Quilters' Guild, AARP, and earned her Master Gardener certificate from Maine Extension.

She was a volunteer usher at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono and for several years served as a "class agent" for her SHS Class of 1961.

Charlotte was a devoted member of the Community United Methodist Church of North Anson and strived to live a life reflective of God's love.

Her abundant energy and creativity left a trail of beauty from her loving heart and hands including: flower gardens, ceramics, home-decorations, handmade quilts, hooked rugs and scrapbooks of her family.

She gave generously of her time and talents always seeking ways to bring joy to others. She was a warm, caring person who will always be remembered for her radiant smile, compassionate spirit and inner strength.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, ______ Tripp, of Embden;
by her beloved daughter ______ Howes and husband ______, of Hermon,
and grandchildren, ______ and ______ Howes, who treasured their "Nana".

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Robert "Duke" Wilman.

Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, friend and grandmother whose family was the joy of her existence.

Charlotte's family express their enduring gratitude to the Oncology Staff at the Redington Fairview General Hospital and the doctors and staff at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care for their competent, compassionate care and support through her nearly seven year struggle with Multiple Myeloma.

Her passion for life lives on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched in special ways.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Community United Methodist Church in North Anson, at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February, 24th, 2015.

Arrangements are under the care of Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.
