Milton Dickey "Dick" Elliott 69 of Amarillo died Fri Feb 10, 2012.

Memorial services will be at 2 pm Fri in Trinity Unity Methodist Church with the Doug Mills officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home.

Dick was born Oct 1, 1942 in Baird to R.L. and Ramah Elliott.

He moved with his family to Dalhart in 1953 where he attended South Ward Elementary School, Allen Finch Jr High School and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1961. He attended Texas Tech University in 1961 and graduated from the school of engineering with a bachelor's of architecture design option degree in 1971.

Dickey and his wife Deanna served on the Special Olympics State Families Committee board of directors from 2000-05. He supported and worked with Special Olympics Area 16 of the Texas High Plains and Panhandle. Dickey, Deanna and their son Blake were chosen as Special Olympics Family of the Year in 2001.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter Lisa Teaff and husband Chris of Russellville, AR; four sons: Kirk Elliott and wife Sonya of Lubbock, Greg Elliott and wife Sara of Hurst, Mark Elliott and wife Monica of Bedford and Blake Elliott of Amarillo; a brother Bob Elliott of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren: Jessica, Kyler, Ashlyn, Cody, Alexia, Bryan and Emorie.
