Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at White Springs Baptist Church for Richard Michael Maddox, 66, of Rainbow City who passed away February 16, 2015. Burial: Lee Family Cemetery. Arrangement provided by: Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. Richard was born April 1, 1948, he was a lifelong resident of Rainbow City and graduated from Etowah High School in 1966. He served in the National Guard and retired from Goodyear with 30 plus years as a millwright where he was better known as the “Governor” and a jokester extraordinaire. He was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. He was an artist of a variety of mediums and enjoyed working with his hands. He enjoyed traveling, sailing, working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving father and “Poppy” to daughters and granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents; Roscoe and Vivian Maddox, former wife; Connie Day Maddox Wesley, brother; David Maddox, and nephew; Michael Lee Maddox. He is survived by his daughters; April Cowart and Connie Greene, granddaughters; Laken, Leah, & Lindsey Green and Karlie Cowart, brothers; Eric and Don Maddox, sisters; Helen Arthur, Nan Metz, Joy Barnard, and Vivian Smith, special friends; Lynda Ryals, Bud and Donna Martin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
