VANDALIA UNION - 01AUG1972 - FLOYD TAYLOR DIES, SERVICES SUNDAY
Floyd Taylor, 73 year old Mulberry Grove resident, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, 27Jul, in Utlaut Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
He was born 02Jun1899 in Fayette Co., a son of Charles W. & Mary Jane (Riley) Taylor. His first marriage was in 1918 to Hattie Johnson. In 1925 he married Mabel Dawson. In 1950 he was re-united in marriage to his first wife who survives.
He was a member of the Mulberry Grove Church of Christ & Gilham Lodge 809 AF&AM of Mulberry Grove. He was a retired carpenter.
In addition to his wife, Hattie, he leaves a son, Charles of Mulberry Grove; daughter, Donna Heller of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Roxie Daugherty of Mulberry Grove; Mrs. Elba Reising of Indianapolis, IN; Mrs. Arlene Hopkins of Smithboro; brothers, Edgar of Springfield, MO; Kenneth of Alton; 7 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ripperdan Funeral Home, Mulberry Grove, the Rev. Max Whited & the Rev. Dallas Newby officiating. Burial was in McInturff Cemetery, near Mulberry Grove, with graveside rites by Gilham Lodge AF&AM.
