WILLIAM TUBBS, 2nd son of William & Mercy (Sprague) Tubbs, was born about 1655.
He married (1) by 1675 Hannah _____ (on 14 September 1687, "Hannah Tubbs, wife of William Tubbs Jr. (Duxbury) was indicted for 'practicing with James Brown, an Indian, and with the said Indian to commit and in adultery to continue did conspire and agree' ").
He married (2) between 1689 and 1693 Judith (Prence) Barker, daughter of THOMAS PRENCE {1621, Plymouth} and widow of Isaac Barker (on 14 March 1688[/9], letters of administration were granted to "Judith Barker widow and relict of Isaack Barker of Duxbury deceased intestate;" on 16 May 1693, "whereas Isaac Barker late of Duxburrough deceased intestate who having at the time of his death goods and chattels to the value of Р€130 or thereabouts as per inventory of the same may appear and Judith relict and then widow of said deceased taking administration thereof now appearing" [PPR 1:168]; on 8 August 1710, as part of the "settlement of a share of land containing three lots lying in a tract of land called the Major's Purchase . whereof Isaac Barker late of Duxburrough . died seized to," dower was reserved to "the widow of the said deceased namely Judah Barker now Tubbs."
