Cody Alan Wilson, 29, of Washington, Indiana, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at 10:46 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born May 31, 1985 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Alan C. Wilson and Cyndia Ellis.

He graduated from Washington High school and immediately enlisted in the Indiana National Guard. He attained the rank of sergeant in Alpha Company 1st Battalion 151st Infantry. He served his country proudly in Afghanistan from 2004-2005. He then returned to combat in Iraq in 2008. He had recently returned to school at Vincennes University in pursuit of a degree in architecture design.

He is survived by the love of his life, his pride and joy, a daughter, Marli Jo; his father, Alan C. Wilson and wife, Stephanie Wilson “AKA Steph-Mom,”; his mother, Cyndia Ellis; his fiancé, Rachel Feigel; a brother, Skylar; step-sister and step-brother, Darrian and Dalton Chrzanoski; grandparents, Joan Wilson and Burl Ellis; uncles, Keith (Lila) Wilson and Jim (Patty) Wilson; aunt, Lezly (Brendon) Dyer and many beloved cousins and countless friends.
