John B. Cowan, a resident of this city for thirty-five years, died Monday afternoon from a sudden attack of heart trouble.
Mr. Cowan was born in Salt Lake, January 21, 1855. His parents, William and Mary Brown Cowan, were among the early Utah pioneers. His wife, who was Miss Jean Brown of Salt Lake, died in 1891 in Mountainville.
Mr. Cowan is survived by the following sons and a daughter; William Cowan of Jackson, Wyo.; Mrs. Mabel Pitt of Portland, Ore.; John Cowan of Driggs, Idaho; Eugene Cowan of Dry Creek Cal.; six brothers and sisters; Mrs.
Agnes Rumel, Mrs. Jane Iversen, Mrs. May Wismer, Joseph, Charles and Alma Cowan, all of Salt Lake. Nine grandchildren also survive.
