When not tending to her beloved Jersey cows, you'd most likely find Doris pitching in any way she could. Perhaps judging contests at the county fair, shouting proud for her beloved Hokies, or more likely than not, dipping her toes in the sand in Bethany Beach, Delaware. After losing her husband in 2010, Doris found a new family to care for and support. She spent hours at Grace United Methodist Church, again doing any task she was called for. She was also defacto grandma of her cul de sac and a wonderful friend to her many neighbors.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Oscar and Nellie (King) Kline; and a baby sister, Susan Kline. In addition to her family at Grace United Methodist in Manassas, and her fellow Virginia Tech Hokie fans, Doris is survived, remembered and honored by her first born, and their children; and her last son and their children. Doris truly adored her grandchildren and felt eternally blessed to have them in her life. She celebrated each of their talents as often as anyone would hear her.
