Kaye Powell passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Born in Texas on Jan. 29, 1920, Kaye and her family lived in El Segundo, Calif., for many years.
Kaye retired from Rockwell International as a project engineer in 1980. While in El Segundo she was a Junior Achievement leader and served as president of the El Segundo Womens' Club, as well as various Womens' Club district offices. Kaye and Bill moved to Woodland in 1994 to be close to family.
She was involved with Meals on Wheels, the Woodland Senior Center Computer Club, the Outta Sight Group and the Woodland Library Rose Club, whose members became her extended family.
Kaye is survived by her stepson Trey Powell and his wife Connie, sons Jim Bowie, Steve Bowie and his wife Carolyn, daughter Laurette Ferrier and her husband Bill, who reside in Woodland, and by Marilyn Tatsch whom Kaye considered a daughter. She is also survived by grandchildren Mike Bowie, Rebecca Bowie, Bud Bowie, Marie Bowie, Mike Tatsch, Billy Ferrier and Shelby Ferrier, as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her sisters Ann Johnston and Ada Davis. Kaye was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Powell in 2010.
