Mr. Joshua Keith Carter, 55, died Thursday morning (February 19, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Waycross after an extended illness. He was a native of Brunswick, but he has lived all of his life in Waycross.

In 1977, Keith graduated from Waycross High School. He was employed as an auto claims estimator for State Farm Insurance Company. Keith served as a deacon and member of Jamestown Baptist Church.

He is the son of the late Joshua Carter. Survivors include his wife, Cindi Bashlor Carter of Waycross; two sons, Josh Carter (Hope) of Athens, and Matthew Carter of Atlanta; his mother, Joan Wood Carter Barnes of Waycross; two sisters, Donna Robbins (Todd) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Gail Thomas (Jack) of Waycross; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hubert and Millie Bashlor of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday (February 22, 2015) at Jamestown Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday in the church social hall. A private burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mattie's Mission, P.O. Box 2211, Waycross, GA 31502, or Southeast Cancer Unit, 401 Pendleton St., Waycross, GA 31501.
