Dolores M. (Dolly) Stewart, 84, of 206 Knox Ave, New Castle, formerly of High Street in Union Township, passed away the evening of April 12, 2014, in her residence with her family by her side. Dolly was married to Harry Ellsworth Stewart Jr. for 61 years. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2010.
Dolly was born November 13, 1929 in New Castle to the late Stanley and Mary M. Cwynar Presnar. Mrs. Stewart was a lifelong homemaker for her late husband Harry and her children. She also worked at West Penn Plastics as an assembly worker for five years and for Walmart in the Deli Department as a meat cutter for two years.
Dolly enjoyed crafting and going to various craft shows with her family and friends. She loved to crochet, bake, and cook for her family. Dolly enjoyed watching her game shows on TV. She loved animals; especially her dogs and cats.
Survivors include her two children, Edward A. (Elaine) Stewart and Karen A. (Richard) Beardsley, both of New Castle; four grandchildren, Richard W. (Cheryl) Beardsley of Ocala, FL, Neil A. (Maria) Beardsley of San Francisco, CA, Thomas E. Stewart of Miami, FL, and Marilou M. (Levi) Welling of Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry E. Stewart Jr.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street, New Castle.
A Blessing Service will be celebrated Tuesday evening following visitation at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Chaplin Scott Fuller of Personal Touch Hospice, Pittsburgh, PA will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
