Russell Cleo Hunter, 91, of Whiteland, passed away on June 24, 2019.

Russell was born in Harrison County, Indiana on August 9, 1927 to Ezra Edward and Hattie Hunter. He married Helen (Luther) Hunter on September 27, 1947. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2019.

He served in the United States Army Air Corp from October 1945- March 1947. He was a military policeman in World War II.

He retired from Gradex, Inc. and the Local 103 Union in 1991, where he was a mechanic. Upon retirement, Russell was a self-employed welder. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include: his son, John (Janet) Hunter of Franklin, two grandchildren, Paul (Ginger) Hunter of Franklin and Brannon Hunter of Whiteland, and five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jordan, John, Avery, and Megan Hunter.

A visitation will be Thursday, June 27th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services immediately following at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland, IN 46184. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
