Fairfield - John Henry Grissom, 76, passed away January 15, 2015 at his home in Fairfield of natural causes. John was born December 4, 1938 in Port Hueneme, California to John Henry and Julia (Ahler) Grissom.

He joined the Air Force Reserves at age 18 and then transferred to the Air Force where he served for 21 years, reaching the rank of Tech Sergeant. While in the Air Force, he traveled to many countries, including a tour of duty in Vietnam, and loved to talk about the culinary delights of each country. After retiring from military service, he and his wife, Juanita (Brunner Winward) Grissom moved to Casper, Wyoming where he worked for the USPS for 27 years. In 2011, they moved to Fairfield, Montana to enjoy retirement. Throughout life, John took on many hobbies. One of his passions was serving for many years as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many different positions within the church. His favorite, of which, was working with the children.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, seven sons, three daughters, four brothers, 25 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was proceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Katherine (Kitty) Dixon, grandson Ryan Joel Chiapelli, and great-grandson Kalel Brennon Fall.
