Stella Louise Baker, 75, of Smicksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1939, in Indiana County, a daughter of Horace and Estell (Simpson) Lowman.

On May 19, 1956, she married William "Bill" Ralph Baker. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2011.

Mrs. Baker had previously worked at Season All and Gaston's Motel.

Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren, as they were her world. She was a loving mother and
grandmother.

She had previously enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and canning.

Surviving relatives include four children, Ricky J. Baker of Smicksburg, Debbie Macko and husband Bob of Punxsutawney, Patricia J. (Baker) Didriksen and husband Glenn of Triadelphia, West Virginia and William B. Baker and wife Branda of Smicksburg; four grandchildren, Chad Vincent Ryen, Amanda Nicole Baker, Michelle Rose Baker and William Travis Baker; three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Mikeayla and Roxanne Ryen; one brother, Alex Lowman and wife Christina of Clymer; and two sisters, Edna Boring and husband Dewayne of Cherry Tree and Charlotte Blystone of Dixonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Michael Allen Ryen; and three brothers, Horace, Dennis and Dwight Lowman.

In accordance to Stella's wishes, all arrangements are private and under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
