Dr. William Paisley Brown, the oldest resident physician of Greenville for several years past, died at his residence in this city, at 10 o'clock this morning, aged 83 years. He had been an invalid for a number of years.
The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian Church, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, by Rev. Geo. J. E. Richards, & the remains interred at Montrose.
Dr. Brown was born at Hillsboro, NC, 28Nov816. He was married in Greenville, 03Oct1850, to Miss Rebecca Stewart, daughter of Rev. Robt. Stewart. Ever since they have resided here, with the exception of a few years they lived in Mulberry Grove. The deceased leaves a wife & 3 children, Mrs. Jessie Gorline, of Salt Lake City, UT; Mrs. S. L. Neely, of Pierron; & Robert Fred Brown, of Dallas, TX. Three children, Frank, Marion Wilbur & an infant, have died. Dr. Brown has been a member of the Presbyterian church for 50 years.
