Linda L. Coble, formerly of Highlandville, Missouri, daughter of Clyde and Georgie (Powell) Phipps, was born on June 25, 1944, Springfield, Missouri, and passed from this life on September 5, 2003, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri, following an extended illness. She was 59 years, 2 months and 10 days of age. She married Don Coble on July 7, 1962, in Spokane, Missouri. Three sons were born to this union. They made their home in Highlandville, Missouri, until moving to Vanzant, Missouri, in Douglas County about two years ago. Linda worked in several nursing homes as a nurse and medical technician. She enjoyed working with ceramics and was an avid reader. She also researched and collected books for many years and had accumulated an extensive library. She was a very caring person and often gave to help ohers, sometimes sacrificially. She was a pleasant person and had a warm smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Don Coble, of their home; mother, Georgie Phipps, of Nixa, Missouri; three sons, David Coble, of Highlandville, Missouri, Blaine Coble and wife Jullie, of Bedford, Indiana, and Daryl Coble and wife Jane of Cumby, Texas; two brothers, Danny Phipps and wife Nancy, of Rogersville, Missouri, and Mike Phipps, of Highlandville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Carla, Jennifer, Devin, twin girls Chelsea and Callie, Ethan and Braden; and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 9, at 10 a.m. in Fieldstone Church of Christ in Douglas County. Burial will be in Penner Cemetery under direction of Craig-Hurtt-Bradley Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.
