Services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Chruch. Rev. Stanley M. Warfield, Jr., will officiate. Strode Funeral Home will direct services. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
A memorial service is scheduled Tuesday at 2 pm at Golden Oaks Village.
Long was born to William K. and Annie Allene (Mitchell) Dollarhide, May 2, 1905, in Chapel Hill, AR. She married John Kenneth Long Oct. 11, 1929, in Cushing.
Long attended school in Wright City through the 10th grade. She graduated from Idabel High School. She received a Life Elementary Certificate from Oklahoma A&M in 1924.
She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Oklahoma A&M by attending summer sessions. She was a teacher for over 40 years.
She taught in Ralston and Stillwater and then taught in California while her husband was with the USO. When she returned to Stillwater, she was asked to return to teaching as a music teacher. She then taught fourth grade at Will Rogers Elementary for many years and was honored as Teacher of the Year.
She was very active in the First United Methodist Church as a Sunday school teacher, Women's Christian Service Member and as a volunteer for the Continuing Education Program.
She participated in many community organizations like the Stillwater Medical Center Auxiliary, Sheerer Museum, N. R. T. A., AARP, Girl Scouts and P. E. O. She loved all music and playing the piano.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband in 1967, three brothers, one sister and one infant grandson.
