Kenneth Dermont Beach VALDESE Kenneth Dermont Beach, 72, of Valdese, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, while a patient of the Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Kenneth was born Oct. 18, 1942, the son of the late Lawrence Monroe Beach and Josephine Elizabeth Smith Beach. Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church of Valdese. In 1961, he was injured in a sledding accident that left him permanently disabled. Along with his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by two brothers, Billy "John" Keever and infant, Wayne Monroe Beach. Those left behind to cherish Kenneth's memory include a brother, Paul D. Beach of Valdese; two nieces, Paula Wittenberg of Hickory and MiMi Mesdag of Juneau, Alaska; and four great nieces and nephews, Cana, Amy, Timothy and Jodi. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, in the chapel of Valdese Family Funeral Care, with the Rev. Butch Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Valdese Family Funeral Care has the honor of serving the Beach family.
