A native of Barrett County, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Will and Elizabeth Brown Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wilfred Rufus Mehaffey, who died in 1999; daughter, Carolyn Bartram; and son, Jack Mehaffey. Betty enjoyed evening fishing at Lake Chatuge and watching her favorite television show, “The Voice.” She loved camping at High Falls Campground and considered fellow campers her second family. Betty was of the Baptist faith.
