Loretta "Rickey" M. (Maasen) Payne passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015, following a long struggle with illness. Rickey was born May 12, 1929. She devoted her entire life to her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, William G. Payne, and her beloved sons, Anthony (Tony) Payne, William George Payne, Jr., son-in-law, Scott Frew and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by three sons, Chris Payne, Nick Payne and wife Sherry, Greg Payne and wife Jen, and four daughters, Cathy Frew, Carole Crupper and husband Don, Cindy and Nancy Payne; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rickey was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and spent a lifetime solidifying that bond with her family. She was a devout Catholic and will be missed dearly by her family and friends who loved and respected her immensely. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, with lunch reception at the church immediately following burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. Flowers can be sent to the Overland Park Chapel or a memorial contribution can be made to the Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation designate Hospice House.
