ULYSSES, Pa. - Susan E. "Sue" Hyde, 65, died Tuesday (Feb. 17, 2015) in her home, surrounded by her family. Born on Sept. 6, 1949, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of James Holden and Marian Storey Stilson. On July 15, 1967, in Gold, she married Lyle E. Hyde, who survives. A graduate of Northern Potter High School, she was employed by the Corner Café in Ulysses, Downey's Restaurant in Ulysses and Erway's Restaurant in Coudersport. Sue was a member of the Gold Church and Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, and she served as a Ulysses Youth Baseball volunteer. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Attending her grandchildren's activities and being part of their lives brought her great joy. Surviving besides her husband Lyle are two children, Clarissa (Chad) Green of Andover, N.Y., and Christopher Andrew (Holly) Hyde of Ulysses; eight grandchildren, Joey, Tyler, Madison, Jenna, Ethan, Megan, Rylie and Kayla; two brothers, James (Eileen) Stilton and John (Debera) Stilson, both of Gold; two sisters, Linda (Richard) Knoebel of Collegeville and Joan Leach of Fairmont, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Sally Ann Stilson. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
