Bernice “B” Jenkins, age 82, of Independence, Kansas died February 15, 2015 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory with the Pastor Darren Melton of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory.

Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory.

The family has suggested memorials to the Meals on Wheels and contributions may be left at the Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory.

Bernice “B” Jenkins was born September 29, 1932 in Edenton, Kentucky to Pierson and Velma B. (Ward) Jones. She grew up in Edenton, Kentucky and graduated from the Kentucky Mid-Way School for Girls. On April 25, 1949 “B” married Charles H. Jenkins in Kentucky and the couple later divorced.

Bernice was a property manager in Wichita, Kansas where she made her home for over 39 years before moving to Independence in 2004.

Survivors include her daughter Addye Jackson of Ethel, Mississippi; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and her significant other of 26 years Eugene Hartman of Independence, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Amos and Charles Jenkins, and one grandchild Charles Rodgers.
