Miss Helms died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident near McAlester.
She was born December 18, 1952 in Ada to Stanley Hill and Jacqualine Roark Helms. She was a 1971 graduate of Coalgate High School. She received a degree in home economics from Oklahoma State University in 1974, and a M.A. in education from East Central University in 1978.
Miss Helms had been a member of the home economics department at Henryetta High School for four years, since January 1975.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Stanley Helms, and one brother, Philip Helms, of the home; her grandmother, Mrs. Jack Roark, Coalgate; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jim Epperson Funeral Service, Coalgate, is in charge of arrangements.
