Mrs. Selby died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1986 at Mother Joseph Manor. Services will be 10:30 am Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3rd Ave. SE, with the Rev David Krogman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Susan B. Steichen was born Oct. 7, 1893 at Roseland, Adams County, Nebraska, to Nicholas and Susan (Kirchen) Steichen. She attended school at Roseland and Hastings, Nebraska.

She married James E. Selby at Hastings Sept. 2, 1913, and they lived in Dubuque, Iowa; Omaha, NE; North Platte, NE; Missouri Valley, Iowa; Huron; and Mitchell. They moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1925 and she lived here from then on. She became a Manor resident in 1982.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, the Degree of Honor Lodge and St. Luke's Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Francis B. Selby of Rapid City; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (Frank Selby), two sons (Arthur and Harold F); three sisters (Mary Pfiffner, Margaret Steichen, and Josephine Karp); and one brother (Jim Steichen).
