ORD — Barbara Dominica Ann “Barb” (Guesanburu) David, 57, of rural Ord, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at the Valley County Health System in Ord.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ord First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Trever Rook officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara, known to many as Barbie, was born Nov. 12, 1957, in Garfield County, Montana, to Michel and Mary (Washut) Guesanburu. She was raised in Jordan, Mont., where she received her education and graduated from high school in 1976. Barb continued her education at Miles City Community College in Billings, Mont., where she received a bachelor of science degree in special education in 1981.

In fall 1982, Barb began teaching at NE Wyoming Board Co-op Ed Services as a special education teacher, where she taught for 10 years. She then taught high school special education at the Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyo.

On Aug. 4, 1984, Barbara was united in marriage to Gerald David at Gillette, Wyo. To this union, three children were born.

The David family moved to Ord in May 1996 to let their children experience farm life. This was the beginning of Oak Ridge Farms, where Barb cared for many sheep and also started Oak Ridge Farms Hydroponics in 2013, after an injury forced her to sell her sheep herd.

Barb’s greatest passions were gardening, fishing and playing with the grandkids. She had a deep love of God, learning and teaching the word of God to others. For 19 years, she taught CCD to the youth.

She was a member of the GROW Nebraska, Nebraska Food Cooperative and CCD and served as the food and produce superintendent for the Valley County Fair.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Gerald of Ord; a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Carrie David of Ord; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shannon David and her significant other, Robert Bluett, both of Omaha, and Michelle and Travis Gidley of Ord; four grandchildren, Cadence and Ryker David, Aubree Gidley, and RaShaun Bluett; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Audrey Guesanburu of Jordan, Mont., and Robert and Kim Guesanburu of Harlowton, Mont.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Wade Cooper of Paisley, Ore., Margaret and Gale Fogle and Mary and Mike Kindt all of Gillette, Wyo.; and her mother-in-law, Doris David of Ord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Michael Guesanburu; nephew, Glenn Fogle; niece, Angeline Kindt; great-niece, Josie Shirley; her father-in-law, Virgil David; and an aunt and uncle, Earl and Dolores David.
