John Adelhardt, 93, of 424 South Chestnut street, Collinsville, a retired farmer, died Thursday at 1 a.m. at St. Mary's hospital in East St. Louis where he was taken Tuesday from severe burns received when his clothing caught fire. He had been a resident of Collinsville for the past 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Adelhardt, four sons, Frank Adelhardt of Troy, Elmer of Collinsville, John, Jr., of St. Louis and Val of Baltimore, Md.; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mayme) Frey, Mrs. John (Louise) Brendel of Troy, Mrs. William (Anna) Rouse of Collinsville and Mrs. Robert (Sophie) Purcell of Washington, Mo.; three sisters Mrs. Lizzie Ficks, Mrs. Emma Ward and Mrs. Anna Patterson of Belleville; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Herbert A. Kassly funeral home, 515 Vandalia street Collinsville, until Saturday at 1 p.m. when brief services will be held from the funeral home and at 1:30 from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church with Msgr. B.N. Manning in charge.
Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic cemetery.
