Harold Sorensen, 61, farmer, died at his home in Mt. Pleasant after a brief illness from a heart ailment.
Mr. Sorensen was born in Denmark, April 2, 1879 (cemetery records are April 6). His Parents S. P. and Anna Sorensen, joined the LDS church in their native land and the family came to Ephraim to make their home in 1883. In 1906 he married Miss Dorcas Monsen of Mt. Pleasant. They have made their home in Mt. Pleasant since their marriage, with the exception of five years where Mr. Sorensen operated a large farm at Axtell. For the past seven years he as been employed with the U. S. engineers at Wendover, Utah. He is survived by his widow; four sons and three daughters, Corporal Frank Sorensen, U. S. Army, Los Angeles,Cal.; Royal and Paul Sorensen, Mrs. Anna N. Smith, Mrs. June S. Dixon and Mrs. Elaine S. Howard, all of Wendover, and Clair Sorensen who was to have been inducted into the U. S. Army April 6. Another son, James K. Sorensen was killed in action December 19, 1941, during a bombing in the Philippine Islands. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters. S. C. Sorensen, Mrs. John Ransen and Hyrum Sorensen of Salt Lake City; Walter Sorensen and Mrs. Fred H. Rasmussen of Ephraim.
