BARBARA J. GIVENS, 67, of Oak Ridge Avenue, who worked in the packing department of the former Ripley & Gowen Co. before retiring, died yesterday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Capt. H. Roger Givens.
Born in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Henry E. and Pauline A. (Thurber) Charon.
Mrs. Givens attended Attleboro schools. She was a lecturer on antique dolls, as well as a collector. For 12 years she was a member and volunteer for the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Chaminade and Eterio Clubs. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and of its United Methodist Women.
Besides her husband she leaves a son.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at North Purchase Cemetery, North Main Street.
