Virginia, died Wednesday, October llth, 2006 at
the Golden Age Nursing Home at Claypool Hill,
Virginia following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Swords Creek, Virginia and was a
daughter of the late Ballard Estil and Effie Call
Miller.
She was a lifelong resident of the Russell and
Tazewell County areas and was a member of New
Hope Assembly Church. In addition to her
husband, she was preceded in death by six
brothers and one sister.
She was a loving wife to her late husband, Mr. Paul
B. Sykes, a wonderful mother to her son, Jack B.
Sykes and his wife, Rita of Richlands, Virginia and
a loving and proud grandmother to her only
grandson, Paul R. Sykes.

One Brother, Mr. Jeffrey B. Miller of Bluefield, West

A graveside service for Mrs. Mona Marie Sykes will
be conducted Thursday at 12:00 noon at Greenhills
Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill,
Virginia with Rev. Claudie Throgmartin officiating
with entombment following.
