Phillip Ressie Barton, 60, of Macclenny died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the home of his son following an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Macclenny and was an insulator in the heating and air-conditioning construction industry for 34 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Asbestos Union Local #13 of Jacksonville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Florida Gators, his son and daughter-in-law, his granddaughters and his family and friends.
Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents Ressie and Agnes Griffis Barton, siblings Arlie, Alvin and John Barton and Pauline Barton Byrd.
Survivors include son Travis (Jennifer) Barton of Macclenny; sister Hester (Joe) Johnson of Macclenny; brothers Charles (Dot) Barton, Cliff (June) Barton and Edward "Buddy" Barton, all of Macclenny; granddaughters Madison and Megan Barton, both of Macclenny.
