Katherine Louise (Shover) Harmon, 91, widow of Wilson Palmer Harmon of 764 Frog Pond Road, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at her residence.

She was born August 2, 1923, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Howard Cecil and Grace (Dull) Shover.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Harmon was employed by DuPont.

She was Queen of the Queen City Belles, was a 4-H Dairy Club Leader, a long-time volunteer and board member at Augusta Expo. She was also on the volunteer services board at Western State Hospital and was a member of AARP.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Howard Wilson Harmon; a sister, Myrle Ashby; and a grandson, Scott Thomas.

Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, D. Ray and Susan Shover of Staunton; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca “Becci” Harmon and David Buell of Swoope; a grandson, Jeff Thomas and wife, Crystal, of Verona; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Golden Clark, of Heaven's Golden Gate's Church. Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
