AMARILLO - Laura Ashby, a homemaker, died Thursday in an Amarillo nursing home. She was 97.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ashby was born in Hudson, Ill., and lived in Fort Worth most of her life.

Survivors: Son, Warren Ashby of Amarillo; daughter, Lauretta Ashby of Avon Park, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
