Kenneth Lee Albright, age76 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a long illness. Ken was born on September 23, 1936 in Fremont to Lee E. and Dorothy (Looyengoed) Albright and has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area. Ken married Clara Frees on November 24, 1956 in White Cloud and she preceded him in death on September 29, 1988. He later married Carol Klemundt on November 10, 1990 in Woodville. Ken joined the United States Marine Corps at an early age where he proudly served for 20 years until his retirement as Gunnery Sergeant in 1973. Ken then returned to White Cloud where he started work at the White Cloud Public Schools as a janitor, later became a mechanic at the bus garage and retired as bus driver in 1992. Ken was an active member of the County Bible Church where he was serving as a deacon. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and attending gun shows, but especially treasured his time spent with his family. Ken is survived by his wife, Carol; his children,Tammy (Jim) Smith Jr. of White Cloud; Corena (David) Avery of Newaygo; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sheldon of Portland; step children, Carl Jones of Fremont; Sue (Eric) Rusch of Walker; Deb (Mike) Ashker of White Cloud; Robert (Lora) Jones of Brohman; Paul Jones of Grand Rapids; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his sisters, Patricia Wiltse of Big Rapids; Peggy Graham of Reed City; many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth W. Albright; his sister, Marilyn Scott; his brothers, James Albright and Jerry Albright. VISITATION : Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 11-1pm at the White Cloud United Methodist Church with MEMORIAL SERVICES at 1pm at the White Cloud United Methodist Church with military rites following. Private interment services will take place later in the fall in Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Country Bible Church or Spectrum Health Foundation for Spectrum Health Hospice.
