PORTLAND — Mrs. Helinor I. Farwell, 72, died June 28, 1983, at a Portland hospital after a long illness. She was born in Bangor, the daughter of John P. and Mary (Purcell) Courtney. Mrs. Farwell was employed as a personnel director in Bangor and Portland by Sears Roebuck and Co. for many years. She is survived by her husband, Charles S. Farwell, one son, Charles J. Farwell, both of Portland; two sisters, Miss Hilda and Miss Marie Courtney, both of Bangor; four brothers, James E. of Ellsworth, Vincent P. of Brewer, Thomas E. of Bangor and Wilfred of Somerville, Mass. Prayers will be said 9:15 a.m. Friday at Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Portland. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
