David A. Koons, 76, Washington D.C., formerly of Gallitzin R.D., died May 16, 2007 at George Washington University Hospital. Born Oct. 2, 1930, in Gallitzin, son of Chester and Colette (Long) Koons.
Preceded in death by sister Irene Buck, and brother, Frank.
Survived by sisters and brother, Ruth Luther of Gallitzin R.D., Rose (Bob) Rieg of Chest Springs, Susan (John) Murphy of Cresson; and Philip (Trish) of Delaware, Ohio. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Cresson Joint High School, Class of 1947. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Retired from the Census Bureau of Washington D.C.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at I p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery. Arrangements in charge of Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville.
