Thomas D. Cox, 76, passed away February 14, 2015, in Bolckow. He was born in Wray, Colo., on November 28, 1938, to Kenneth and Grace (Redden) Cox. He married Frances Cox in Ventura, Calif., on December 26, 1981, and she survives of the home.

Tom grew up in Lucerne, Colo., and attended Buell School and Eaton High School. Tom was a Navy man, serving 20 years and retiring as a Chief Petty officer E-7 in 1975. He owned and operated his own sandblasting business for 15 years until he sold the business in 1999. He was Colorado all-state VFW Post Commander three times and district 3 Commander, 1999-2000. He was a charter member of VFW Post 12053, in Amazonia, Mo. He was a very dedicated post member and served as Amazonia VFW Past Quartermaster for two years until his health made him retire the position. He also held positions at the Missouri District level. He was the Mayor of Bolckow from April 6, 2003, until his passing.

Tom is survived by: his wife, Frances Cox, of the home; three sons, Thomas and Sandy Cox Jr., of Huntington Beach, Calif., Freddy Cox, of Detroit, Mich., and Michael Cox, of Long Beach, Calif..; four brothers, Kenneth and Darleen Cox, of Durango, Colo., Jerry Cox, of Dallas Texas, Robert and Shirley Cox, of Arizona City, Ariz., and Norman and Marcia Cox, of Evans, Colo.; one sister, Shirley and Jim Huff, of Greely, Colo.; five grandchildren, Nick Olson, of Long Beach, Christopher Cox, of Huntington Beach, Crystal and Jason Holloway, of Victorville, Calif., Alexandria Cox, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Megan Cox, of San Pedro, Calif.; and one great-grandchild, Jett Holloway, of Victorville.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, Mo.

Public visitation and family receiving hour will be from 6-7 p.m. preceding the service on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at the Funeral Home.
