Jerry Robert Barton, a beloved and amazing husband, son, father, and papa (grandfather and great grandfather) passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Mercy Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City due to complications of his second open heart surgery. He was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on January 21, 1937, to Richard Ernest Barton and Denzel LaVerne McManus Barton. Jerry and his beautiful wife, Janice, were married on August 13, 1955. They raised three children: one amazing daughter, Sabrina Rabinovitch, and two wonderful sons, Chris Barton and Jeff Barton.

Jerry’s career began and ended in the oil field business. He began his career in sales and management for the Republic Supply Company, Cameron Iron Works, and Norris O’Bannon Division of Dresser, Inc.

Jerry was employed by Guiberson, a division of Dresser, Inc. in 1969. He was responsible for sales and services of their products in Oklahoma, Kansas, North Texas, and the Texas Panhandle. Jerry retired from Halliburton and began selling oil field products for Guiberson, a division of Cameron in 2002. BCEJ & Company was created and is now a distributor for Guiberson, a division of Cameron.

Jerry always had a smile, a hilarious joke, or a great story. Jerry’s positive energy and love for others filled every space and person he came in contact with. As one of his co-workers said, Jerry was the real deal, always honest and loyal and could always be depended on.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Janice Delores Davis Barton; three children, Chris Barton, Sabrina Rabinovitch, and Jeff Barton. He is adored by his 7 grandchildren, Courtney Vickers, Brittney Conkey, Connor Barton, Emalee Rabinovitch, Jacob Rabinovitch, Katie Barton, and Keli Barton; his 6 great grandchildren, Cayden Plowman, Kaya Morgan, Coraline Rae Barton, Emma Conkey, Lincoln Thanphachanh, and Ryan Conkey; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and of course his best friend, his dog, Tiara.

Jerry’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 20 at Newchurch in Oklahoma City, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, OK. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Infant Crisis Center at www.donatenow.networkforgood.com.
