She passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 84 years, 11 months & 25 days. She was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a member of the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, KY. She enjoyed being involved in the lives of her family, cooking, quilting, sewing, bluegrass gospel music, going to Church & watching WLJC (Sister Margaret Drake).
Opal Bailey was preceded in death by her mother, Mallie Collett, loving & devoted husband, George Bailey, one son, Jack Bailey, three sisters, Ada Whitehill, Bernice Holland & Elizabeth Collett & two brothers, Joe & Harrison Barrett
She leaves the following relatives surviving: two sons, Dale Bailey & Lisa of Essie, KY. & David Bailey & Helen of Roark, KY., one daughter, Ruth Holland & Isaac of Roark, KY., one brother, Wiley Barrett of Essie, KY., special nephew, Michael Barrett, four grandchildren, Doug Bailey, Kim Asher, Shannon Bailey & Cody Bailey, four great-grandchildren, Byron Holland, Dawson Bailey, Chandler Bailey & Tressany Bailey, one great-great-grandchild, Leah Gabrielle Holland. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
