Mills River – Clyde Matthews Hutcheson, 74, of Mills River, peacefully left this world on February 14, 2015. Encompassed by his family and loving Saviour, Clyde won the final victory over cancer and has now entered into his final rest. Preceded by his wife Donna in 1992, he will now rest by her side until our Lord's coming reunites us all.
Clyde leaves behind his only son Steve and his wife, Stefanie, of Lenoir, NC. No one meant more to him, though, than his beloved granddaughter, Ashley Hutcheson Craven. Clyde is also survived by Ashley's husband Casey and their three sons: Walker, Connor, and Garrett. These boys were also lights in Clyde's life and these great-grandsons will carry on his legacy of honesty, integrity, and mischievousness.
Among others who Clyde leaves behind are his sisters Virginia Ellington of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Anita Myers of Jackson, Tennessee, along with two brothers and their wives: Roy and Carolyn Hutcheson of Scottsboro, Alabama and Wayne and Mary Hutcheson of Greenbrier, Tennessee. Clyde was preceded in death by another brother, Joe Hutcheson, of Pikeville, TN.
He is also survived by his devoted sister-in-law Virginia Shelton and her husband Leach, of Mills River, as well as another sister-in-law, Wiladene Moore of Clarkston, Michigan. The nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles are too numerous to list but were all loved and cherished deeply by Clyde.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Shepherd Memorial Park on February 17, 2015, at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Mikey Bellamy officiating. Family and friends are then welcomed to gather at Forge Valley Baptist Church Fellowship Hall to celebrate Clyde's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one's charity of choice.
Evans Funeral and Crematory in Lenoir, NC is assisting the family through this period.
