OBITUARY
Elmer John Parks, 84, who resided at Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, July 2, 1993, at the Health Center.
He was born September 27,1908, at Sutherland, Iowa, and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1926. He received his B.S. degree from South Dakota State College in
Brookings and later received his M.A. degree from the University of Minnesota.
He married Sue Mae Stedman in 1931 at Brookings, South Dakota. He was united in marriage to LaVera Hoime in 1941. He retired in 1975 after serving as assistant county superintendent for the Area 5 Education Agency. He also had worked as a teacher/administrator in the communities of Cleghorn, Pomeroy, Paullina, Sioux Rapids and Central Webster, Burnside.
He was a member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, James of Davenport; one daughter, Sandra Davis of Brooklyn, Iowa; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lena Parks; his first wife, Sue Mae Stedman Parks in 1938 and his second wife, LaVera Hoime Parks in 1977.
