Hugh J. Baker, III was born on August 7, 1944. He passed away on February 14, Saturday morning sitting with his men's Bible Study Fellowship Leaders.

He exemplified servant leadership in every facet of his life, first to his God then to his family, and to all of his work. He began as Purchasing Manager for his Grandfather's steel business, Hugh J. Baker & Co., and finished as the Regional Advancement Director for Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. Hugh embodied energy, optimism and lots of humor.

He was a Veteran of Vietnam serving as a Navy Seabee. He served on many Boards including: Indianapolis Rotary (past President), FBI Citizens Academy, Stanley K Lacy Leadership, Indianapolis Symphony, Junior Achievement, PMMI, Indiana Youth Institute, American Red Cross (past member of the Board of Governors). His family and friends will remember "Mr. Indy" at IMS standing in the South Chute as an Observer.

Hugh was predeceased by his parents, Hugh J. Baker, Jr, and Dorothy Cooper Genung Baker and sister Susan Elizabeth Spooner.

Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Priscilla Baker (Hash), sons, Hugh Jacob, IV, (Lisa), Hiram Judson, (Cary), and grandchildren.
