He was the son of the late Samuel Clark Peacock, Sr. and Margaret Mae Bailey Peacock.

He attended N.C. State University. He worked for Southern Railroad Transportation before becoming a Federal Mediator for the National Mediation Board, from which he retired.

Mr. Peacock loved his home town and his church, First United Methodist, and served in numerous capacities for both. He served as Sunday School Class President and Teacher for many years. Civically, he was instrumental in establishing the N.C. Transportation Museum and served on their Board for ten years,

He was also a member of the Board of the Historic Salisbury Foundation, Rowan County Tourism Authority and the Catawba Chiefs Club. In 1990, the Civitan Club recognized Mr. Peacock as “Citizen of the Year.”

Mr. Peacock has been a member for more than 50 years of the Masons, Shriners, and Elks organizations.

Charlie, as Mr. Peacock was affectionately called, loved people and taught more than 100 people to water ski at their place on High Rock Lake.

The service was at 2 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at Summersett Memorial Chapel

The burial followed at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
