A Veritable "Mother in Israel" Lived Nearly a Century
News has been received of the death of Mrs. Sallie Curd Bradshaw, widow of Frederick H. Bradshaw, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. C. Bradshaw, in Harper county, Kansas, on July 22. She formerly lived in this county and has many relatives here. Mrs. Bradshaw was a very remarkable woman. She was 92 years old at the time of her death, and the mother of twelve children, 34 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Her six sons were pall bearers and her six grandsons were the honorary pall bearers. All her children were born in Mercer county, and in 1870 she, being then a widow, moved with them to Saline county, Mo., where she kept her large family together until they all married. Seven of the twelve children survive her, ranging in age from 70 to 53 years.
