In 1930 she lived with her parents and six siblings (not the same six as in 1920) there on the farm. They did not have a radio.

In 1940 she and her husband lived in an apartment they were renting for $20 a month from William and Eva Adrian at 1101 South Bell Street in Kokomo, IN. He worked as a welder for Stellite Company, with an income in 1939 of $500 for 26 weeks of work. She worked as an assembler for Delco Radio, with an income in 1939 of $750 for 52 weeks of work.
