"Mary A. Moore was born in the state of North Carolina February 15, 1846, and died in Lewis, Iowa, December 2, 1905, at the age of 59 years, 9 months, and 17 days.
She was married to Albert Walter in 1871. In 1875 they came to Cass county, which was the home of the deceased until the time of her death. Six children were born to this union, two sons and four daughters: Charles and Arthur, Mrs. W. W. Trent, Mrs. Thos. Rhoades, Mrs. John Doty, all of Lewis, and Mrs. W. E. Partridge of Massena. She also leaves a sister and four brothers to mourn her departure.
Mrs. Walter had been in poor health for a number of years, and was a great charge on her family and friends.
She united with the Methodist church in early life. Subsequently she became a member of the Church of Christ, of which denomination she continued a member until the end. The funeral was held from the home Sunday at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. Dow Credson preaching the sermon, after which she was laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery.
The relatives have the sincere sympathy of their neighbors and friends in their said bereavement."
