Louis A. Bockenfeld, Jr., 84, of Davenport passed away on February 13, 2015 at Bickford Cottage. A private service will be held. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Louis Andrew Bockenfeld was born on November 15, 1930 to Louis Sr. and Cecial (Mandel) Bockenfeld. He was united in marriage to Virginia Mae Connell on June 14, 1952 celebrating 53 years before her death in 2006. Mr. Bockenfeld served in the United States Navy in 1949, 1950 and the Naval Reserve for an additional 8 years. He retired from the R.I. Arsenal after 38 years as a machinist. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. As a precision fretwork craftsman, Louis made many clocks and artifacts along with 25 year club awards given to many of his son's Indianapolis 500 close friends. Louis found great pleasure in giving away his entire work to others that enjoyed them.

Survivors include his five children and their spouses; Russell (Karla) Bockenfeld of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lynn (Patrick) Boland, of Bettendorf, IA, Doug (Sher) Bockenfeld of Rogers, AR, Nick Bockenfeld of Long Grove, IA, and Karen (Mark) Wagner, of West Bend, WI; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mr. Bockenfeld was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, brother Richard and his parents.
