Charles was the son of James and Sarah, formerly Nelson, Bracken. He is was employed as a machinist. He was married Effie Uber Bracken on May 7, 1912. He moved to Greenville, PA in 1915. Prior to his marriage, he taught at the Blacktown School in PA. He was an elder of the Greenville United Presbyterian Church and taught its Filch Enterline Class. He belonged to the Eureka Lodge, F. and A. M.; the Mt. Royals Arts Chapter, No. 222; the Mt. Calvary Commandery, and the Knights of Malia. He also was an active member of the Lake Presbytery.
He is survived by his wife, Effie, formerly Uber, Bracken. He is also survived by his siblings: Joseph Bracken of Volant, PA; Mrs. Grace Smith and Mrs. Oliver Collins, both of Volant, PA; and Mrs. H. H. Danner, of Mill Village, PA.
